History
During the mid-nineteenth century, Norristown was a prosperous business community, a manufacturing and governmental center and the home of numerous important Civil War heros and industrial giants. Quarrying, iron and steel manufacturing, textile and clothing production assured the active construction of many fine mansions and well-built Victorian middle-class homes.
